100 Days of Rioja - Week Twelve 2021
Carlos Serres  Reserva  2014

Cherry red color with a thin terracotta edge showing its longer barrel age. The wine shows its mature black fruit, toffee and mineral notes. This is a silky wine with harmonious balance of flavors with an elegant and refreshing finish.

Blend: 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo

Perfect for matching any grilled meats, stews or barbecued meats. It also accompanies charcuterie, steaks and even game and stronger cheeses. It has a velvet-lined mouthfeel, and its aromas and flavors of chocolate, cherry, and plum are coated in licorice. Sandalwood gives way to savory spice on the finish.

Finca Allende  Blanco  2015

Elegant and subtle, with notes of grapefruit, peach and yellow plum. It has a classical oaked white Rioja nose, with some nutty undertones, spice, dried flowers and a hint of petrol. The palate has focused, intense flavors, and the oak is nicely integrated.

Vianco  Reserva  2014

It’s quite smoky and balsamic, with integrated oak but still showing some toasted notes and ripe fruit without excess, a mixture of red and black berries. It has good balance and a medium-bodied clean palate, with some faint leathery sensation.
