100 Days of Rioja | Week One 2021

100 Days of Rioja - Week One 2021
Bodegas Riojanas Vina Albina Reserva 2013

Ruby-red with a tawny rim, brilliant. Elegant on the nose, well-blended aromas with hints of wood. Fine and well-structured on the palate, with good acidity and polished tannins. Complex retronasal fragrance, delicate and persistent

Lopez de Haro Crianza 2017

Plum, cherry, and earthy spice notes make up a classic Rioja nose, while this Crianza from a hot, dry year feels fleshy and ripe. Dark berry flavors push toward the limits of raisiny on the warm finish.

Beronia Gran Reserva 2010

Bright-rimmed ruby. Smoke and oak-spiced black and blue fruit, pipe tobacco, cola, and floral qualities on the nose. Palate-coating, well-concentrated cassis, bitter cherry, and licorice flavors are sweetened by hints of mocha and vanilla. Chewy tannin’s frame has a long, smoky finish that leaves suggestions of cherry pit and candied violet behind.
