Bodegas Valdemar Highlights Biodiversity with New Packaging for the Young Wines of Conde Valdemar
Advisor Wine Industry Network | August 9, 2022
Bodegas Valdemar is excited to announce a new look for their Conde Valdemar portfolio of young wines. The updated packaging reflects the estate’s deep commitment to sustainable farming across the winery’s 300 hectares in Rioja and will launch with the 2021 vintage of the Conde Valdemar Tempranillo, Rosé, and Blanco.
The new Conde Valdemar labels are colorful, lively, and elegant. Each feature one of the many indigenous flowers found growing among the vines in Rioja:
- Conde Valdemar Rosé features the Malva Sylvestris flower, also known as Common Mallow – Buy USA
- Conde Valdemar Blanco displays the Melilotus Indicus flower, commonly known as Indian or Yellow Sweet-Clover – Buy USA
- Conde Valdemar Tempranillo shows the Centaurea Cyanus, commonly known as the cornflower – Buy USA
The type of ground cover emphasized on the new labels helps protect the environment by generating a diversity of colors and aromas through the abundance of flowers that naturally grow in the vineyards. In turn, the flora provides a large volume of pollen and nectar, acting as an alternative and inviting food source for the natural enemies of vine pests.
“These new designs reflect our commitment to biodiversity in the vineyards, one of the most important aspects of our sustainable agenda and a cornerstone of our philosophy as a winery,” commented Ana Martínez Bujanda, Chief Operating Officer and fifth generation of Bodegas Valdemar in Rioja. “We believe that this new presentation for our young Conde Valdemar wines helps communicate this information while remaining true to our Rioja roots.”
